Please give Tamera a warm welcome. We have an energetic audience today 🙂 Please sir sit down before you fall!

The desert island is waiting Tamera so let’s get on with the fun.

My first question is about food..

What food Tamara would you miss the most being on a desert island?

Tamera – That’s hard to say. I would miss chicken, potatoes, chocolate, and my Teavana teas. I’m not sure which to choose. I have a rare food allergy to folic acid, so I’m allergic to most fruits, vegetable, and nuts. Because of that, potatoes are essential for me to get the nutrients I’m missing. I do love potatoes, but is a life without tea and chocolate worth living? I’ll have to think on that one.

Gosh, that is unusual being allergic to folic acid. However, it seems you have found your way around it. I think we will leave you with a large bag of potatoes, for the duration of your stay on the island.

I hope you have an inspiring answer to my next question!

You find a piece of paper with a pencil left behind from the previous Author who was shipwrecked here. What encouraging message would you leave for the next cast away?

Tamera – I know you must be heartbroken to be shipwrecked, but it’s not all bad. I brought my Kindle with me and am already half way through my to be read books. That’s never happened before. I did have to read a book on how to charge a battery using seaweed and salt water though. Happy reading, and here’s hoping you don’t get rescued too soon.

How ingenious using seaweed and salt water to charge the battery 🙂 I wonder who wrote the book – Ivor Fixit Weed Seawater?

Onto something more serious now..

What favourite sentence do you like from your most recent published book?

Tamera – In Red Sky Over America, America is explaining to Ruth why she has to challenge her father about slavery. Here’s the quote: America lifted her head and faced Ruth. “Evil triumphs in this world because we don’t confront it. I’ve compromised by not proclaiming the truth.”

What wise and sad words but so true of humanity. The world would be a better place if we had the courage to proclaim the truth.

Tell me more about yourself..

I know you like writing but do you have another passion?

Tamera – I have a few other passions. I love music although I don’t play any musical instruments. Also, I love studying history. That’s where I get most of my stories. I love researching my family tree and seeing where my family fit in as well as enjoying classic movies. By classic, I mean 1930s through 1950s. Actors like Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, and Betty Davis have never been equaled in today’s culture. Those movies challenged us in a way that is missing today.

There’s only one other passion that rivals writing though. It is children’s ministry. I was a children’s pastor for 20 years. Now I am a children’s evangelist and consultant for a traveling ministry called Revival Fire for Kids.

So just a few passions then! It sounds like you have a busy life, Tamera. I agree those old movies are definitely classics and challenging. Often gentle in their delivery but packed with meaning and social probing. One of my favourites was Brief Encounter with Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson. You could feel the tension, chemistry and struggles they have.

I am afraid it is time for the last question..

To leave the island, you have to describe your main character in five words, can you tell me what they would be?

Tamera – Spiritually strong, intimidated, courageous, persistent. I’m not sure I want to leave the island though. I have a number of books on my Kindle I still have to read!

As you like the island so much perhaps we will leave and call back for you in a week or so. Butler, order another bag of potatoes for our guest.

What a lovely lady Tamera is. I think we must be making our island too comfy!

A huge round of applause for Tamera and here’s hoping you have a successful blog tour.

I love Authors Interview 27 has been fun even if we did lose our guest to the island. I hope you have enjoyed this post and will comment as such. Before you leave please read on for more about Tamera and her book and enter the GIVEAWAY.
