It is a pleasure to have you here today Noel – thank you for coming along.
Now sit back and imagine that we are on a desert island. The sun is shining, and the waves are lapping at your feet as you gaze out to sea. You are alone!
I think Noel has fallen to sleep, I’ve made it too peaceful for her.
Readers you need to give Noel a huge warm welcome to wake her up.
Now that’s better.
Noel – Sorry I didn’t realize where I was. Oh yes, a desert island.
Are you ready to begin the interview now Noel?
Noel – Absolutely.
My first question is..
Who would you like to be marooned on the island with and why?
Noel – I would be marooned with a magical genie that catered to my every whim. 🙂
Umm, that kind of goes against the back to basics on a desert island theme. I think we would have to curb his abilities to grant your every whim!
Having asked for a genie I’m not sure what else you will need..
What luxury would you like to have washed up on the beach?
Noel – My iPhone in a seal zip lock bag… With a wifi hotspot and solar charger.
I fell into that one!
I think Noel likes her comforts, so onto the next question..
What book would you crave to read (you already have the bible, so please pick another book)?
Noel – Jane Eyre. Every Christmas I reread it.
You must know it off by heart by now. I wonder what Jane Eyre would do if she were stranded on a desert island? Maybe she would choose your book to read?
We have another question about wishes, I think the genie is working overtime!
You are given one wish, but there is a clause which means you can only ask to be an animal. What creature would you like to be?
Noel – An armadillo. Preferably, one from Amarillo. 🙂
Is this the way to Amarillo?
Ev’ry night I’ve been huggin’ my pillow
Dreamin’ dreams of Amarillo
And sweet Armadillo who waits for me
Show me the way to Amarillo
I’ve been weepin’ like a willow
Cryin’ over Amarillo
And sweet Armadillo who waits for me
Oh sorry the song beckoned to be heard! I just couldn’t help myself.
Sadly this is my final question..
What food would you miss the most being on a desert island?
Noel – Soup. It’s my favorite food and I could eat it for every meal if allowed!
Oh dear, it looks like the genie is going to try and catch the armadillo for tea – soup anyone?
Please note: no armadilloes were hurt during the course of this interview.
Well, its been fun Noel hearing about your desert island choices. Once again thank you for coming. I hope your book has a successful tour.

About the Book
Title: The Simple Soul of Susan
Author: Noel Branham
Genre: Romance, YA, Coming-of-Age, Contemporary
Release Date: October 11, 2017
Susan Combs had long ago found the love of her life. The only problem was the other party still didn’t know he had been found.
Every day Susan saw Calder Hurtz, her next door neighbor and childhood best friend. They always enjoyed the short drive to school down the dusty streets of their small Texas town. She was happy in those perfect moments, for her life at home was most imperfect. The challenging homestead she inhabited was also the favorite subject of local gossip.
But one autumn day she overhears Calder and another boy having a conversation. This occasion of accidental audience sets Susan’s life on an unforeseen path. In the seasons to come, her future will be changed by two hospitalizations, two confessions of love, and one betrayal.
Compulsively readable, The Simple Soul of Susan is an engaging, soul-endearing romance and a mesmerizing debut.
